Jacaranda's latest offering for clients: complete publishing.

In the old days, programmes were distributed on tape. More recently distribution has been via DVD. However now, by using the very latest technology has to offer coupled with the fact that there is widespread access to good broadband, Jacaranda is offering to distribute clients' programmes to any number of channels such as the intranet, dotcom websites, podcasts, YouTube or mobile phones.

So how is it done? Once a programme is completed, it is encoded and stored in one central location. From here the programme can be published to as many channels as the client chooses. Programmes can be tweaked before dowloading to certain destinations should a client not wish to have all their material available to everyone.

As the video is stored in one place, it makes altering or updating the film much simpler and cheaper than before as previously each viewing channel required a separate storage site.

"With the distinction between internal and external communications becoming increasingly irrelevant, our latest service broadens the scope - and therefore potentially the effectiveness - of many of the corporate videos we produce," says Gus Colquhoun, creative director. "While this technology is certainly not unique, I know of no other production company that offers such a comprehensive service to its clients."

In addition, not only does the technology enable viewers to be tracked - ascertaining where and when they watched a film - but questionnaires can also be run alongside programmes thereby generating useful feedback for the client.

The good news is that this new service requires no additional input from the client - the video is stored digitally on their behalf and dispersed to the chosen channels when required.
