Having substantially reduced the potential risks of major incidents across all its sites in recent years the issue of vehicle and driver safety now stands out much more. Although much is already being done, the goal is to widen the company’s efforts to raise awareness across a wide range of audiences. The aim is a step change in the number of vehicle and driving related incidents that in turn delivers a step change to Rio Tinto’s safety performance by 2008.
The film is designed to be relevant to all people who work at Rio Tinto worldwide and ultimately to expand understanding of this area beyond its sites and look at vehicle and driver safety holistically.
Shooting took place on location in Africa, Australia and the US earlier in the year, and post-production was recently completed at Jacaranda’s dedicated online facility in West London. The programme will be distributed globally via DVD and webstreaming to all Rio Tinto employees.
