IVCA Clarion Awards win for Jacaranda

LONDON, UK - On September 29th, at BAFTA in Piccadilly, London, leading figures from the communications industry, business, government and the arts came together for the annual IVCA Clarion Awards presentation. The awards celebrate the finest examples of responsible communication on CSR, Sustainable Development, Cultural/Social Aspiration and Social Inclusion.

Jacaranda and their new client, Barclays PLC won the Clarion Award for the Barclays Chairman’s Awards 2006, The judges praised “Barclays’ vision in developing the Awards scheme and for the excellence of its accompanying communication materials produced by Jacaranda.

A prestigious event attended by colleagues, charity organisations and other external stakeholders the Barclays annual Chairman’s Awards, hosted by Chairman, Matthew Barrett, has taken place for the last ten years. The awards recognize individuals or groups of people who have made a real and lasting impact on their local community, colleagues and customers, with Barclays’ support.

Jacaranda was commissioned to produce a series of films that explained, in as concise a way as possible, what it is that these unsung heroes have achieved - not through the words of a senior executive, but rather through the words of those whose lives have been directly affected by their actions.

The films are designed to celebrate the achievements of key individuals and, in doing so, bring to life the practical reality of what ‘building strong and inclusive relationships with our customers, colleagues and the communities in which we operate’ really means.

The Judges said: “This was a series of films that tell emotional and compelling stories which demonstrate the benefit brought by the winning nominees to their local communities.”

This is the third consecutive year that Jacaranda has won a Clarion award. In 2004 Jacaranda was one of the first companies to win a Clarion ‘Champion Award’ for 18 years of “outstanding contribution to the communication of CSR, sustainable development, social inclusion or ethical debate”. In 2005 this success was repeated with a Clarion awarded for work for Rio Tinto that demonstrated “…exemplary use of interactive media to communicate CSR or sustainable development initiatives, and engagement in such activity.”

In 2006 Jacaranda was also voted joint No.1 UK video production company in Televisual Magazine’s Corporate Top 50 survey.
