The O2 Community Awards were launched in 2003 as a way for the company to recognise and celebrate their staff’s achievements in community work and charity fundraising both at a local level and internationally. Nominations came from across the O2 businesses (UK, Airwave, Ireland, Manx, Germany) and there were many outstanding examples of O2 people doing fantastic work for good causes at home and abroad.
The Ceremony was held on Thursday 12th October, presented by 02 Chairman and Chief Executive Peter Erskine. Speakers included Britain’s best -known Paralympian and world-class athlete, Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson. The three winners were each presented with over £5,000 for their community partners.
The event was also filmed by the Jacaranda team and edited overnight
at our dedicated West London facility ready for streaming on the O2
internal TV system the following day.
