The team started by flying out to Peru at the beginning of November and have worked their way first down through Argentina and then back up to Brazil. The shoot is a major undertaking and will cover most of Rio Tinto’s mining operations on the continent including copper in Peru, potash production in Argentina and iron ore, gold and diamond operations in Brazil.
The Jacaranda team will be gathering material both for use in the regular quarterly magazine ‘Shared Vision’ – which is currently on its 17th edition – and for a number of other programmes, some specific to the operations and others on more general subjects such as exploration, health and safety and graduate recruitment.
A complicated logistical undertaking, the shoot is due to finish by the middle of December. Post production is currently underway on ‘Shared Vision 17’ with work on the other projects to follow in the New Year.
