The primary purpose of this first video is to provide a tool to help trainers to introduce the Joint Services Adventurous Training to course participants as part of their induction.

The film is designed to help service personnel develop sixteen key attributes relating directly to their performance in peace and war. With training covering everything from sub-aqua diving to sea-kayaking, climbing, gliding and free-fall parachuting, the film required powerful, iconic photography with every shot conveying a clear, crisp message. Shooting took place from January to May in Norway, Cyprus, Germany and the U.K.

Jacaranda's Director/Cameraman used three lightweight DV cameras, with helmet mount for parachuting, climbing and skiing plus underwater rigs for sea-kayaking and diving. He had to keep up with Services' well-trained personnel and participate in all activities, whilst also operating the camera...

Captain Andy Fowle the Project Officer for the Joint Service Adventurous Training DVD said:

"Working with Jacaranda has been an all inclusive reciprocal successful experience, in particular the filmmaking process was adventurous and meaningful. We now own an exciting film - well done Jacaranda."

Jacaranda was added to the MOD Tri Services preferred suppliers list in 2004 following a rigorous application and vetting process. Since being commissioned to make the JSAT film, Jacaranda has been asked to produce two more projects for the Services, the second is a promotional film which has just been filmed at the Services Cotswold Centre and the third will be an important new training film on Mine Awareness.
