Jacaranda produces SR film for Waitrose

Jacaranda Short film image captureJacaranda has recently completed the production of a short film on behalf of a new social responsibility campaign which sees the partnership between Waitrose and not-for-profit organisation 'One Water' raise funds to help reduce the number of people in Africa who do not have access to water.

The film was produced from domestic footage which the client had previously shot on location and brought back to Jacaranda's in-house edit suites and graphic facilities whereby the original video tape was re-fashioned with music and graphic visuals added, creating an extremely cost-effective professional film for the charity partnership.

Shared Vision imageJacaranda designed the film to illustrate how sales of 'One Water' in Waitrose UK stores fund unique PlayPump® water systems for African communities who would otherwise have suffered great hardship due to lack of clean, accessible water supplies.

The partnership between Waitrose and 'One Water' is part of a continued commitment towards responsible trade, helping to improve the welfare of workers and surrounding communities in developing countries. 'One Water' aims to provide at least one PlayPump® each and every day.

Following the official first screening at a Waitrose conference in late 2007 the film now resides on their intranet for all Waitrose colleagues to view as well as on the external company corporate website.

Nick Monger-Godfrey, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility for Waitrose says: "We made this film as part of our commitment towards improving the livelihoods of the communities in and around where we source our products. It was both the heritage of SR expertise and the international reputation of Jacaranda which made them the obvious choice to help us produce this film."

Katy Eyre, Managing Director for Jacaranda says: "The challenge for our production team was to turn this film around in such a short space of time using domestic pre-shot footage and to ensure that the story was compelling and with clear campaign messages. Our choice of a gospel music soundtrack and powerful graphics ensured that the final short video was both inspirational and engaging."
