Jacaranda has recently completed the production of a pro-bono film for the West London children's Charity CEDARS as part of their continued commitment to Social Responsibility.
The new film which was completed in December 2007 has been produced for marketing and fundraising purposes to be used in presentations to potential sponsors and beneficiaries of CEDARS.
Jacaranda designed the film in order to highlight the needs of local children in and around West London, using compelling footage from parts of the borough, and narrative from the children & volunteers of the group demonstrating how the Centre bolsters the quality of life of youngsters, facilitating a transition from school into adult life.
Blue Peter's TV presenter Konnie Huq introduces for the film said: "CEDARS is such a worthwhile cause and many local young people are benefiting from the support. It is so important for children to have somewhere safe and warm to go to. CEDARS provides all of that."
Katy Eyre, Managing Director for Jacaranda says: "Every year we support a charity by offering some pro-bono film production work. Our pro-bono work has ranged from West London HIV/AIDS support charity, 'The River House Trust', to the international wheelchair provider 'Motivation', and the late Dame Anita Roddick's 'I Am An Activist'. This year we chose to work with CEDARS for several reasons. Not only does this project reflect Jacaranda's continued commitment to local Social Responsibility, but it also presents new employee engagement opportunities for our junior producers, enabling them to take the reigns themselves and lead a project whilst under supervision."
Jan Tellick, Director for CEDARS says: "We are delighted with the pro bono work that Jacaranda has done for us. The film is a shinning example of how CEDARS provides support for local children and the joy that it brings to each and everyone involved."
The film can be viewed at CEDARS own Winter fun day from 11.30AM - 2.30PM on January 26th 2008 which will be held at the Methodist Church on Sutton Lane W4 where local children and families can come along and enjoy fun and games and a bouncy castle too.
CEDARS started as the Methodist Youth Club some 20 years ago and became a stand alone charity in 2007 as Chiswick Christians 4 Community Ltd, supported by a number of local churches, the police, Hounslow Youth Service, Chiswick Community School and other relevant entities. The name CEDARS stands for Christian Enterprise Delivering Acceptance Recognition Support and Success. The aim is to oversee the development of the initiative into a full Youth Drop-In Centre for 8-18 year olds and the community.
