Jacaranda has recently completed the production of a training video called 'Mines Aware', the third competitively won training film for the MoD Tri-Services this year.
The
filming of 'Mines Aware' completed at the end of October 2007 has
been designed as generically as possible in order to give military
personnel vital information to reduce the risk of landmine casualties
in all theatres of operations where UK forces may be deployed.
Having worked closely with some of the worlds leading experts on mine threats Jacaranda's understanding of the broad spectrum of devices deployed against inventory and vehicles in theatres across the world was paramount. Whilst maintaining a stark realism, the documentary style film has not only been editorialised but also deliberately avoids the use of music, special effects, and any devices which might otherwise sugar coat the pill.
It
is the combination of insightful practical training punctuated with
matter of fact interviews taken from landmine victims talking about
the consequences of injury, which determines the impact of the film,
providing military personnel with the know how to extract themselves
from land mine danger areas worldwide.
Gus Colquhoun, Creative Director for Jacaranda says: "This is the third consecutive project that we have won for the MoD Tri Services this year. As an agency we rose to the challenge by drawing upon our expertise in dealing with sensitive interviewing techniques and powerful story telling. In the dramatic reconstructions we used real people who have had their lives seriously affected by land mines to create an emotive and high impact training video."
Captain Camilla Blott, MITC commented: "Jacaranda have produced a focused training tool which can be used to comprehensively teach our military personnel how to minimize the threat posed by Land Mines."
Jacaranda was added to the MOD Tri Services preferred suppliers list in 2004 following a rigorous application and vetting process. Since making the first film for Joint Services Adventurous Training in September 2007, Jacaranda produced a second promotional video, which was filmed at the Services Cotswold Centre in October 2007.
